Director of Camp JCC and Teen Engagement
Dave Flagler, from Jacksonville Florida by way of Central Massachusetts, is entering his 6th summer as Director of Camp JCC. Dave holds a BA in General Business with an emphasis in Education from the University of Florida and an MA in Nonprofit Management and Community Leadership from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Summer 2026 will mark Dave’s 15th summer as a camp director or assistant director, and he has spent many more as a camper, counselor, specialist, and program leader.
Dave enjoys dressing in costume, the car pick-up line, making anything into a song or cheer, and generally just being loud. In addition to “Donkey Thursdays,” Dave’s favorite parts of camp are the silly organic moments, the planned and spontaneous activities alike that campers talk about all year, and seeing the tremendous growth of campers and their families day to day, week to week to week, and summer to summer.
When not at Camp JCC, Dave enjoys playing the guitar, ukulele, and harmonica, singing karaoke, b’nai mitzvah tutoring, being a crazy uncle to his nephews, and cheering on the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, and Florida Gators.

Assistant Director of Camp JCC
Kate-Lynn has dedicated eight years to the Simon Family JCC, growing from an after-school counselor to her current role as Camp JCC Assistant Director. Her journey at the JCC has progressed steadily; she became a junior counselor, a senior counselor after high school graduation, and was promoted to unit head in 2021. This summer, she achieved her most recent promotion.
Her educational background includes a recent graduation from Old Dominion University with a BA in Leadership and a minor in Psychology, which she pursued while also working for Virginia Beach Public Schools for five years. Both areas of study will be highly valuable in her new position.
In her free time, Kate-Lynn loves walks on the beach and finding inspiration on Pinterest. Camp, along with the beach, is a place where she finds great joy. Her favorite part of the job is planning special events and seeing the campers' excitement when those plans come to life.
