Frequently Asked Questions - Summer Camp 2024

How do I register for camp?

Camper registration is online and parents need to create an account for our parent dashboard if they have not done so already.

Once you have set up an account and answered a few questions, you will then be prompted to select which weeks you would like to come to camp. After selecting those options, parents will find a dashboard of necessary forms. Some may be due initially while others may be due at a later date.

Parents will need to select submit enrollment request in order to register. Once there, parents will get an email and a screen confirming their request. Your application will then be reviewed and processed before your enrollment is complete.

Do we need to pay in full now?

For Summer Camp, a deposit of 25% is required to reserve your place in camp with the remainder of the payment being due on June 1, 2024. For School Days Out, payment in full is due at the time of registration

What Summer Camp discounts are available?

Fall 2023 Early Registration Special: Register by December 31 and receive $20 off per week for any number of weeks. (Max 8)

Winter 2024 Early Registration Special: Register for 5 or more weeks between January 1 and March 31 and receive $20 off per week.

**Please note that Last Blast does not count towards the week totals nor is eligible for early bird pricing specials.**

Sibling Discount: If two or more children from the same family membership are registered for the same week, families receive a discount of $25 per child for every child after the first enrollee.

What if we need to switch or add weeks?

Please contact a member of our camp team and we will be happy to assist you.

What are your Cancellation and Refund Policies?

Withdrawal or Session Cancellation of Camp JCC Summer Camp Before June 1, 2024:

If needing to withdraw from or cancel a week of Camp JCC before June 1st, you are entitled to a full refund minus either the 25% deposit or a $100 cancellation fee. We will issue the refund and subtract the amount that is smaller, the 25% deposit of the cancellation fee.

If you are applying for financial assistance and you choose to withdraw without accepting the offer, there is no penalty and no payments will be applied.

Withdrawal or Session Cancellation of Camp JCC Summer Camp After June 1, 2024:

All cancellations must be in writing 14 days prior to the start of camp or said session to be eligible for a refund.

All cancelled sessions are only eligible for a 75% refund. We are unable to reduce fees due to absence, regular illness, family matters, holidays (including Juneteenth and July 4), vacations, or forces of nature. Sessions are not transferable to others.

Do you offer financial assistance?

Financial assistance is available as the JCC strives to ensure that no child is denied a camp experience.

Please see the financial aid page for complete details.

What about food?

Camp JCC, located on the Sandler Family Campus, is a Kosher facility. This means that all food served at camp is Kosher and properly labeled as such.

Campers must bring a kosher style and nut free lunch to camp. Kosher style means no pork products, nor mixing meat and dairy products in the same food item.

Camp JCC will provide campers with 2 snacks daily (3 for those doing PM Care). Parents are welcome to send extra kosher style nut free snacks in their campers’ lunch box.

Camp JCC is allergy aware and nut free. This means that while products containing nuts will never be served, we cannot prevent all potential exposures. We ask that all food items brought to camp are nut free. For the safety of everyone, campers may not share food with each other.

Do You Go Swimming?

Yes we do! Campers in groups up to entering 4th grade will have both instructional and recreational swim each day (weather permitting). Older groups will have the opportunity to swim each day, schedule and weather permitting.

What about COVID-19?

Camp JCC will adhere to best practices and recommendations by the CDC, American Camping Association, and the Virginia Department of Health. We will update this section with new guidance as necessary.

If your child, or someone in close contact with your child, has been exposed or tests positive for COVID-19, or there are any symptoms of COVID-19 independently, please call the camp director as soon as possible. Discretion will always be maintained and the best course of action will be determined. Let us all do our part in keeping COVID-19 away from Camp JCC.
