Working at Camp JCC is more than just a summer job; it’s a chance to make a real difference. Our staff mentor campers (and each other), build leadership and professional skills, form lifelong friendships, and have a lot of fun along the way. Expect laughter, creativity, teamwork, and meaningful impact every single day.
Camp JCC is an excellent experience for college students, high school students (rising juniors and seniors), recent graduates, or anyone interested in recreation, education, social work, or youth development. All staff members serve as positive role models for campers and fellow staff.
Available Positions:
- Sr. Counselors (minimum requirement – 18 years old or high school graduate): Serve as the lead counselor of their assigned unit participating in all aspects of the group’s activities.
- Jr. Counselors (minimum requirement – 16 years old entering junior year of high school): Assist the Sr. Counselors and campers in all aspects of the day.
- Activity Specialist: Lead activity periods such as sports, arts & crafts, music, nature, etc. and must have knowledge and experience related to the specialty they are leading. Must be responsible and have the ability to instruct, assist, and supervise children in a positive manner.
- Camper Care Specialist: Work with counselors, unit heads, parents, and camp leadership in coordinating behavior support and management plans, ensuring the cohesion of each group, and identifying possible barriers to camper’s full participation. The Camper Care Specialist is responsible for highlighting campers’ unique character, strength, and contributions to the camp community while creating a culture of inclusion.
- Camp Nurse: The ideal candidate would be a registered nurse or nurse practitioner with summer day or overnight camp and/or school nurse experience
