The Virginia Beach Senior Citizens Academy provides an excellent opportunity for citizens who work or live in the City of Virginia Beach to become familiar with the day-to-day operations of their police department. These classes enable participants to develop an understanding of law enforcement procedures, guidelines, responsibilities, demands, personnel, equipment, policies and laws.

Topics covered in the classes range from criminal law and forensics to patrol operations and investigations. Attendees may even have the opportunity to tour the City jail and ride-along with a VBPD officer.

Registration will open in the Fall or Winter of 2026.
