Anniversary of Kristallnacht, November 9, 1938
On this date, the Nazi government of Germany launched a state sponsored pogrom against its Jewish citizens, by destroying Jewish homes, businesses, possessions, and synagogues, and rounding up 30,000 Jewish men and marching them to concentration camps. It is a day to remember the dangers of prejudice, authoritarianism, and baseless hatred, which, unleashed by the Nazis and their collaborators, led to the death of six million Jews during the Holocaust.
