Judaica and the Arts: Mizrach

Thursday, January 22 at 5:30 PM (Learning Session)
Sunday, January 25 at 2:00 PM or Thursday, January 29 at 5:30 PM (Art Workshops)

Discover the beauty and meaning behind the mizrach, the traditional artwork designating the direction of Jerusalem for prayer. Join Rabbi Ari Oliszewski for a learning session that will explore the history, symbolism, and spiritual significance of the mizrach in Jewish homes and synagogues.

Then, put your inspiration into practice in a hands-on art workshop with local artist Sharon Serbin, who will guide participants in creating their own stunning stained glass mosaic mizrach.

Choose the workshop date that works best for you—Sunday, January 25 at 2:00 PM or Thursday, January 29 at 5:30 PM—and take home a unique piece of Judaica imbued with personal meaning and timeless tradition.

Please choose your workshop date below. (you will be automatically registered for the learning session.)

Presented by the Konikoff Center for Learning of the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater.
