Exhibition Opening: Elise Melnick Simon, “60 Photographs”
Gather in the Leon Family Gallery for a reception celebrating the opening of “60 Photographs” by Elise Melnick Simon. This special exhibition features the original prints from Elise’s 1989 solo show of the same name, which remained in storage following her unexpected death in 2002.
Through photographs of everyday natural and man-made objects, Elise explored symmetry in nature and its relationship to the structures around it. Her images reveal the expressive patterns found in even the simplest surroundings, inviting viewers to see familiar subjects in a new way. Refreshments will be available beginning at 5:45 PM; remarks will begin promptly at 6:00.

Attendees are invited to stay for the United Jewish Federation of Tidewater’s kickoff for the 2027 Annual Campaign at 6:30 PM.
